Haiti Needs Help!!

A recent article in The Wall Street Journal shares with us that Haiti needs $11.5 billion to rebuild and recover from the Jan 12 earthquake. On march 31 there is a conference being held where donor nations are expected to give financial aid to Haiti. The earthquake has taken more than 220,000 lives, and has caused damages at about $7.86 billion. A report states that 300,00 people were wounded, 8.5% of workers lost jobs, 105,000 houses were flattened, 208,000 houses were damaged, 1,300 schools and 50 hospitals crumbled. "Haiti authorities said they would rely on foreign contractors for part of the work because the country's construction sectors is too small to undertake such a task."

I feel that its good to hear that other countries are getting involved to help Haiti other than the U.S., because for awhile it seemed like the U.S. was the 911 for the world. Whenever something went wrong they turned to us for help. The whole world should help each other not just one country, this is why the whole world is screwed up its one sided when it comes time for countries to help out. That's crazy that this earthquake caused $8 billion worth of damage to Haiti, the damage was 120% of the countries output last year. So in my opinion this earthquake put Haiti back a year and some from today.
